Bingo is the perfect laid-back activity: there’s no need to spend hours learning complicated rules, and you don’t have to be particularly competitive. All you need to do is show up, take a bingo card, and see whether luck is on your side that evening. And once the game is over, you can keep the evening going with karaoke.
Fun fact: the roots of modern bingo can be traced back to 15th-century Italy, where people played a lottery-like game called Il Gioco del Lotto d’Italia. The name we know today originated in the United States in the 19th century. According to the story, the game was initially called “Beano”until an excited player accidentally shouted “Bingo!” instead. The name stuck.
